Diary, 1860-1867.

This diary was kept before her marriage by Ann Webster Gordon in Richmond and Staunton, Va., and while the author traveled in the state of Mississippi. It concerns her life as an educator, governess, and religious teacher of slaves. Along with her comments on slavery in Mississippi, the diary includes a list of slaves who attended Sunday School in Richmond, Va., and their masters; notes concerning Stonewall Jackson; and observations on religious life in Richmond.
